Monthly Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Vinayaka Chaturthi Vrat
Vinayaka Chaturthi Vrat is observed monthly on the Shukla Chaturthi (4th day of the bright fortnight) of every month and is dedicated to Lord Ganesha in his Vinayaka form — the remover of obstacles. Unlike the grand annual Ganesh Chaturthi festival, this is a regular monthly observance suitable for anyone seeking Ganesha's blessings for new beginnings, studies, business ventures, and removal of all difficulties. The fast is milder than annual festivals and widely observed across South India.
