Monthly Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Purnima Vrat
Purnima Vrat is observed on the full moon day (Purnima) of every lunar month. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the Moon (Chandra), and is considered highly auspicious for worshipping ancestors and performing the Satyanarayan Puja. Purnima is regarded as the most spiritually potent day of the lunar month — the full moon amplifies prayers and offerings. Bathing in holy rivers on Purnima earns immense merit.
