Ekadashi Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast

Vijaya Ekadashi Vrat

Deity Lord Vishnu
Type Ekadashi Fasts

Vijaya Ekadashi occurs on the Krishna Paksha Ekadashi of Phalguna month (February–March). According to Padma Purana, Lord Rama observed this fast before crossing the ocean to Lanka to rescue Sita, and it granted him victory over Ravana. The word "Vijaya" means victory, and fasting on this day is believed to ensure success in all endeavours, especially before important battles, exams, or ventures.
