Ekadashi Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Nirjala Ekadashi
Nirjala Ekadashi (also called Bhimaseni Ekadashi or Pandava Nirjala Ekadashi) falls on Jyeshtha Shukla Ekadashi and is considered the most powerful of all 24 Ekadashis. Observing this one Ekadashi with complete waterless fast (nirjala) earns the merit of observing all 24 Ekadashis throughout the year. It is named after the Pandava Bhima, who could only observe this one Ekadashi due to his inability to fast.
