Ram Navami Vrat is observed on Chaitra Shukla Navami — the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. It falls on the last day of Chaitra Navratri. Devotees fast, read Ramacharitmanas or Valmiki Ramayana, and perform Ram puja. The birth ceremony (Janmotsav) is performed at noon — the time of Rama's birth — with abhishek of the infant Ram idol. Sunderkand or Ram Raksha Stotra are popularly recited.

Procedure
