Devotees fast throughout the day, perform elaborate Krishna puja with swings (Jhula/Hindola), and stay awake until midnight (when Krishna was born), performing the birth (Janmotsav) ceremony at midnight with abhishek and aarti. The fast is broken after midnight celebrations.

Procedure
