Annual Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Mangala Gauri Vrat
Mangala Gauri Vrat is observed on every Tuesday of the Shravan month (July–August) by newly married women (nayi naveli dulhan) in their first five years of marriage. It is dedicated to Goddess Mangala Gauri — a form of Parvati — who is worshipped for the long life, health, and prosperity of the husband. The fast is performed over five consecutive Shravan Tuesdays. It is especially popular in North and Central India.
