Ekadashi Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Jaya Ekadashi Vrat
Jaya Ekadashi falls on the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi of Magh month (January–February). It is believed to liberate souls trapped in ghostly existence (Preta Yoni) and grant them moksha. The name "Jaya" means victory, and observing this fast bestows victory over sins and the cycle of birth and death. Lord Vishnu is worshipped in his form as the remover of all sins.
