Goddess Worship — Vedic Puja Vidhi
Sita Puja
Sita Puja worships Goddess Sita — the beloved consort of Lord Rama, daughter of King Janaka, and the embodiment of purity, fidelity, patience, and selfless love. Born from the earth (she is Bhumi-Devi's daughter), Sita is venerated as the ideal of womanly virtues and conjugal devotion in the Hindu tradition. Sita Navami (her appearance day) and Vivah Panchami (the day of Rama-Sita's divine marriage) are the most auspicious occasions for this puja. Married women observe the Sita Jayanti fast for the long life and wellbeing of their husbands, while unmarried women pray for a devoted and righteous spouse.
