Hampi Utsav
Hampi Utsav (also called Vijaya Utsav) is a grand three-day cultural festival held at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hampi, Karnataka. It celebrates the glory of the Vijayanagara Empire, once the wealthiest and most powerful empire in the world. The festival brings to life the medieval grandeur of Hampi through classical dance performances, puppet shows, folk music, light-and-sound shows at the ruins, and craft exhibitions. The ancient Virupaksha temple — the city's heart and still an active place of worship — is the spiritual center of the festival.
