Ekadashi Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Kamika Ekadashi Vrat
Kamika Ekadashi falls on the Krishna Paksha Ekadashi of Shravana (Shravan) month (July–August). The Brahma Vaivarta Purana records Lord Krishna explaining to Yudhishthira that this Ekadashi fulfils all desires (kama = desire; ika = granting). It is particularly associated with Vishnu's Trivikrama form and the offering of tulsi leaves, which are said to be more pleasing to Vishnu on this day than gold or jewels. Observing this Ekadashi during the holy month of Shravan amplifies its merit manifold.
