Ekadashi Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Gita Jayanti Vrat
Gita Jayanti is celebrated on Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi — the very Ekadashi on which Lord Krishna revealed the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Devotees observe a fast and spend the day reading, reciting, or listening to the Bhagavad Gita. The Margashirsha month itself is declared by Krishna as 'I am Margashirsha among months' in the Gita, making this Ekadashi uniquely sacred for Gita devotees and Vaishnavas.
