Shiva Worship — Vedic Puja Vidhi
Somnath Puja
Somnath Puja is performed in reverence to Lord Shiva in his form as Somnath — the lord of the moon and protector of all creation. Somnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and is considered the first and most sacred among them, located on the western coast of Gujarat. Devotees perform this puja to seek liberation from sins, relief from afflictions of the moon (Chandra dosha), and the blessings of Lord Shiva for health, peace, and moksha. The ritual involves Shivalinga abhishek with milk, honey, and gangajal, recitation of the Shiva Panchakshara mantra (Om Namah Shivaya), and offering bel patra.
