Shiva Worship — Vedic Puja Vidhi
Shiv Puja
Shiv Puja is the daily or periodic worship of Lord Shiva — the supreme deity of destruction and transformation in the Hindu trinity. The puja centers on the Shivalinga, which represents the infinite energy of Shiva. Devotees perform abhishek (ritual bathing) of the Shivalinga with water, milk, honey, and panchamrit, offer bilva (bel) leaves, dhatura flowers, and ash (vibhuti), and chant the Panchakshara mantra "Om Namah Shivaya". It is performed widely across India to seek Shiva's blessings for health, spiritual liberation, and removal of all sorrows.
