Ekadashi Fasts — Hindu Sacred Fast
Shravan Putrada Ekadashi Vrat
Shravan Putrada Ekadashi falls on the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi of Shravana month (July–August), making it the Ekadashi of the holiest month in the Hindu calendar. "Putrada" means "giver of sons/progeny," and couples seeking children especially observe this fast. There are two Putrada Ekadashis in the year — the Pausha Putrada in winter and this Shravan Putrada in the monsoon. The Bhavishya Purana records a king named Suketuman who observed this fast to be blessed with a son. It falls in the middle of Chaturmas and carries the combined merit of Shravan month observances.
