Vidyarambha Ceremony
Vidyarambha is the Vedic samskara marking the formal initiation of a child into the world of learning and education. Performed when a child is between two and five years of age, this ceremony involves the child writing the first letters of the alphabet with a gold or silver stylus on rice or sand, guided by the guru or parent. The ritual invokes the blessings of Goddess Saraswati (deity of knowledge) and Lord Ganesha (remover of obstacles) to ensure the child's lifelong love of learning and academic success.
