Varaha Puja
Varaha Puja is the worship of Lord Varaha, the third avatar of Vishnu who appeared as a cosmic boar to rescue the Earth goddess Bhudevi from the depths of the primordial ocean, where the demon Hiranyaksha had dragged her. Varaha dived into the cosmic waters, slew the demon, and lifted the Earth on his tusks, restoring her to her rightful place in the cosmos. This avatar embodies the divine act of rescue and restoration of what is sacred. Varaha puja is performed for land-related blessings, agricultural prosperity, and recovering what has been taken away.

Step-by-Step Procedure
Install the image of Lord Varaha — ideally the form showing Varaha lifting Bhudevi on his tusks — facing north. Place a small quantity of earth or clay near the altar as an offering to Bhudevi. Begin with Ganapati puja. Perform panchamrita abhishekam followed by Ganga water. Offer red and golden flowers, tulsi, and bilva leaves. Light a ghee lamp. Offer freshly cooked food, grains, vegetables, and sweets. Recite the Varaha Stuti, Varaha Kavacham, and the Dashavatar Stotra. Chant "Om Varahaaya Namah" 108 times. Offer prayers for land, property, restoration, and earth protection. Conclude with aarti and distribute prasad.

Varaha Jayanti (Bhadrapada Shukla Tritiya or as per regional tradition), Akshaya Tritiya, and Thursdays. Auspicious before purchasing land or property, during Griha Pravesh, and during Vastu correction ceremonies. Bhadrapada month is especially sacred.
