Panchmukhi Hanuman Puja is the worship of the five-faced form of Lord Hanuman — one of the most powerful manifestations in the Vaishnava and Shaiva traditions. The five faces are Hanuman (east), Narasimha (south), Garuda (west), Varaha (north), and Hayagriva (upward) — each representing the five divine energies that protect the devotee from all directions. This form was first assumed by Hanuman during the battle with Mahiravana in Lanka to extinguish five lamps simultaneously and rescue Lord Rama and Lakshmana. Worshipping Panchmukhi Hanuman is believed to destroy evil forces, remove black magic, and provide omnidirectional protection.

Step-by-Step Procedure
Install a Panchmukhi Hanuman image or idol facing south. Perform abhishek with sesame oil or panchamrit. Offer red flowers, sindoor, and jasmine garlands. Light five sesame oil lamps (one for each face). Chant Panchmukhi Hanuman Kavach or Hanuman Chalisa 5 times. Offer besan laddoos or jaggery. Pray for protection and strength in all directions. Conclude with aarti.

Tuesdays and Saturdays are most auspicious. Hanuman Jayanti, Navratri, and the full moon of Kartik are also ideal. Early morning (Brahma Muhurta) or sunset (Pradosh Kaal) are the best daily times.
