Sacred Fire Rituals — Vedic Puja Vidhi
Ganesh Havan
Ganesh Havan is a sacred fire ritual performed to invoke Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and bestower of auspiciousness. Offerings of modak, durva grass, red flowers, and ghee are made into the fire while chanting the Ganapati mantra and Ganesh Atharvashirsha. It is performed at the start of any new venture, before major ceremonies, during Ganesh Chaturthi, and whenever obstacles need to be cleared from one's path.
