Kartik Purnima Puja
Kartik Purnima Puja is one of the most sacred full-moon observances in the Hindu calendar, falling on the full moon day of the Kartik month (October–November). It is also known as Tripuri Purnima or Dev Deepawali — the festival of lights for the gods. On this day, Lord Shiva defeated the demon Tripurasura, and Lord Vishnu returned from his four-month cosmic sleep (Chaturmas). Devotees take a holy bath in the Ganga or any sacred river, perform deep daan (lamp offering), worship Tulsi and Satyanarayan, and light thousands of diyas along the riverbanks. It is believed that bathing on this day equals the merit of a thousand Ashwamedha yagnas.
