Description
The Shashtiamsa chart divides each sign into sixty parts (0.5 degrees each). It is considered the most important divisional chart after D1 and D9 by many classical authorities (Parashara himself calls it very significant). It reveals the native's past life karma and the overall auspiciousness of the birth chart.
How to Read
The D60 Lagna and its lord indicate the past life influence on the current incarnation. Benefics in D60 kendras indicate good past life karma manifesting. Malefics indicate karmic debts being repaid. D60 requires very accurate birth time (within 1-2 minutes) to be reliable.

Q.Why does D60 need exact birth time?
D60 divides each sign into 60 parts of just 0.5 degrees each. The Lagna moves through all 60 parts of a sign in about 20 minutes. Even a 2-minute birth time error can shift the D60 Lagna. This is why D60 analysis is reserved for cases where the birth time is very accurately recorded.
Q.Is D60 really that important?
Parashara states that D60 can override other divisional charts for assessing overall karma. A planet in a good D60 amsa (subdivision) ultimately gives positive results even if placed poorly elsewhere. However, its reliability depends entirely on birth time accuracy.
