D1 - राशि

Rashi Chart (D1)

Overall life, physical body, general fortune

Description

The Rashi chart (D1) is the main birth chart. Every other divisional chart is derived from it. It shows the position of planets in the 12 signs at the time of birth. All general predictions about personality, career, marriage, health, and fortune begin here.

How to Read

The Lagna (ascendant) sets the reference frame. Count houses from the Lagna. Planets in kendras (1,4,7,10) are strong. Planets in trikonas (1,5,9) are auspicious. Planets in dusthanas (6,8,12) face challenges. The Rashi chart is the foundation - no divisional chart contradicts a strong D1.

FAQ

Q.Is the Rashi chart the most important?

Yes. The D1 is the master chart. All other divisional charts refine and detail what the D1 shows. A strong D1 with weak divisional charts still gives good results. A weak D1 with strong divisional charts gives limited improvement.

Q.How is the Rashi chart different from Western charts?

Vedic Rashi charts use the sidereal zodiac (Lahiri ayanamsa), which is about 24 degrees behind the tropical zodiac used in Western astrology. This means your Vedic sign may differ from your Western sun sign. Additionally, Vedic astrology emphasises the Moon sign and Lagna more than the Sun sign.
