Frequently Asked Questions
Q.How can something complete arise from something complete and leave it still complete?
This is the essential teaching of Advaita Vedanta. The finite world (idam — this) emerges from the infinite Brahman (adah — that) without diminishing the infinite. Infinity (∞) minus infinity (∞) still equals infinity (∞). This is not mathematical nonsense but a pointer to the nature of consciousness: creation does not reduce the creator. The universe is Brahman's dream — taking nothing from Brahman's wholeness.
